Executive Director of the GOP, Dallas Woodhouse, responded to a recent tweet sent out by the Democrats and all hell broke lose. On August 6th the Democrats tweeted this:
On this anniversary of the Voting Rights Act, let’s celebrate how far we’ve come but remember that we must fight to keep moving forward. pic.twitter.com/N3KfI0BvK5
— NC Democratic Party (@NCDemParty) August 6, 2017
Dallas Woodhouse responded by invoking the 1898 Wilmington riot which was the only coup d’état in American history,
After they murdered blacks in Wilmington @NCDemParty , passed what they called the White Declaration of Independence

Woodhouse didn’t say anything that wasn’t true. The Democrats were absolutely responsible for the riots and it is a blemish on their record they would prefer we all forget. That being said, I am a strong proponent of not punishing the son for the sins of the father. The Democrats today should be judged on their actions and their actions alone. What is amazing is the response some Democrats had to Woodhouse’s tweet. Unfortunately, most Democrats don’t share my view on punishing the son for the sins of the father. They, however, take it one step further. They think we should be punished for the sins of their fathers, not ours.
Anytime the racist history of the Democratic party is broached the Democrats play this wonderful game of misdirection. They make this argument that after the civil rights act of 1964 all the racists joined the GOP.
and those same racist are the republicans of today which is why the all of the southern states are red states.

Remember when Dixiecrats pulled away from Dems in 1948 and were welcomed into the GOP in 1964?

There were probably thousands of the same responses. All the racists left the GOP after 1964. What’s odd about that argument is the fact that most southern states didn’t flip red till the end of the 20th century and most in the early 21st century. South Carolina didn’t flip red till the mid 90’s. South Carolina didn’t go full red till the early 2000’s. Arkansas went all in with the GOP in 2010 and the North Carolina GOP didn’t get complete control till 2012. If everyone switched parties like the Democrats said why did it take so long for the GOP to get control? It’s because very few people actually flipped parties. It is a giant myth perpetuated by Democrats who feel guilty about their racist past. In fact the slow move from Democrat majorities to GOP strong holds actually began before 1964…
The “solid south” Democratic voting pattern began to break down not in the 1960s in response to civil rights but in the 1950s in response to economic development and the Cold War. In the 1940s, the GOP garnered only about 25 percent of southern votes. The big break came with Eisenhower’s victories. Significant percentages of white southerners voted for Ike even though the Democratic party remained firmly segregationist and even though Eisenhower backed two civil-rights bills and enforced the Brown decision by federalizing the National Guard…
As I mentioned earlier. I don’t blame the son for the sins of the father. However, I do blame the Democrats sons for trying to trick the American people into believing that their racist fathers are really the GOP’s racist fathers. That goodness the American public isn’t half as dumb as they think they are…
