Morning Glory,

With new trade threats comes new drops in the global markets, “Stocks fell sharply Wednesday as concerns over escalating trade tensions threatened to erase the week’s gains.  The Stoxx Europe 600 fell 1% in early morning trading and futures pointed to lower openings for both the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average.  Japan’s Nikkei fell 1.2% and South Korea’s Kospi was down 0.6%.”

Good news for those on prescription drugs made by Pfizer, “Pfizer, in a statement released after the president’s tweet, said its Chairman and CEO Ian Read discussed drug prices with Trump on Tuesday, about a week after price hikes on dozens of the company’s drugs took effect. According to Pfizer, the company will cancel those price increases to give the president an opportunity to work on his administration’s broader effort to overhaul drug prices.”

And in North Carolina, lawmakers say enough is enough with these hog farm lawsuits, “A Duplin County hog farm became the venue for a community show of support Tuesday morning for a family on the losing end of a nuisance lawsuit…Republican N.C. Lt. Gov. Dan Forest thanked the Carters for following the rules and regulations imposed on their industry and cited the economic impact hogs have on the community.  Referring to their lawsuit and pending cases he said, ‘Enough is enough. That’s not right. That’s not fair and that’s something we shouldn’t have in North Carolina. It’s lawsuits like these that are going to put farmers out of business.'”
