Kim Strach doesn’t have a D next to her name so she is out at the NC BOE…
WRAL reported on Friday that a meeting today with the new Board of Elections members will be for the purposes of appointing a new Executive Director…
“Board spokesman Pat Gannon issued a public notice of the meeting at about 11:30 a.m. The main agenda item is the appointment of an executive director”
“Reached by phone Friday morning, State Board of Elections member David Black, a Republican, said the board planned to have a teleconference Monday to discuss Strach’s ouster.
‘The general move from the Democrats on the board is to replace her,’ Black said.” WRAL
WRAL notes that Strach’s background has been anything but partisan. With 20 years of service to BOE, her investigative evidence was used to take down Democrats from Mike Easley to Jim Black and Republicans like Fletcher Hartsell.
Many Democrats were also impressed with her leadership during the hearing on the 9th congressional district improprieties. That apparently wasn’t enough to save her job.
So let me see if I have this right. The drawing of districts for elections shouldn’t be partisan but those who run and manage our elections should absolutely be partisan. That’s not hypocritical at all…
This is perfect timing for the Democrats as Strach’s termination will happen just before the special election primary in the 9th district… NJ
